Hanworth House is an iconic Brisbane home originally built in 1864-65. It was home to the original Portmaster of Brisbane and was designed by architect James Cowlishaw. In 1913 it was renamed The Hospice and run as a home for elderly, impoverished gentlewomen. In 1997 Hanworth House was placed on the Queensland Heritage Register. Damaged by arson in 2013, we were privileged to be a part of it’s restoration. The building now provides accommodation and is a beautiful venue for events.
